The night after KFIN Welcomed the Jason Aldean
My Kinda Party Tour to The Convo, one fan, in Champaign, IL was trying to have
his own kinda party — but he wasn’t able to stay in the audience long
enough to see it to a good close. With Aldean at the back of the
University of Illinois assembly hall to join Luke Bryan on an acoustic set, the drunken fan began losing his cool, which is visualized in the video below. Our friends at radio station B104 were in attendance at the show and came back with the juicy details.
Obviously enjoying himself a bit too much, the fan stepped out onto a
ledge that dropped about 10 feet to where Aldean and Bryan were
performing. At first, it seems he just sort of danced around on the
ledge, and when security finally came to take him out, the country stars
tried to vouch for him by insisting that he was just having a good
time.
“Hold on, don’t throw that man out … Don’t hurt him, he’s in the
spirit!” Bryan says in the video. The pair then stopped their song to
reach up for the fan, who at this point was clumsily throwing out his
arms to them while being held back by security. Still seeing him as a
fan who was just a little too inebriated, Aldean said, “I like your
spirit.” Then, trying to reason with him and keep him in the show, he
added, “Go grab a beer and get back in your seat.”
Seeing that the man is perhaps too far gone to reason with, Bryan
gave it another shot. “Look at me brother, look at me.” When the man
didn’t, he said again, “Hey … Hey you, chill out.” Still, the man was
completely out of his wits and as the security guard squatted down to
pick the young guy up like a kid, Bryan confirmed what everyone (except
perhaps the drunk) already knew: “You are about to get bounced dude.”
Aldean then pointed out to the guy, “We’re trying to help you out dude.”
But said dude simply couldn’t be helped, so he was escorted out of
the concert to the tune of Aldean, Bryan and their entire audience
singing “Nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, goodbye!” while laughing at the entire situation. Maybe it is a good thing The Convo is dry!
